She still has the prints

Bouncing behind the speed boat
where her husband laughs and cheers
as she holds on the best she can
before a sharp turn topples her floaty
and throws her into the connecting rope.

At first she is dazed
and the world around
is moving blue
and bubbles are everywhere;
almost breathable.

Then she sees her leg
held at the thigh
entangled in rope that doesn't give.
And she thinks
"It doesn't hurt
but maybe it will."

And the boat keeps moving.
Making her wonder if maybe they were finding her
in the water
where a fish was causing ripples
or maybe they all blinked
and were about to recognize her absence.

Whatever it was the boat moved
and she followed
watching the sky through the waves above
knowing only that it was beautiful.
